About Hetzner
Hetzner Cloud in 2026
Hetzner is a German infrastructure company known for cheap dedicated servers and a simpler public-cloud line than AWS or GCP. The Cost-Optimized CX range (shared vCPU, NVMe) is what most comparison shoppers mean by “Hetzner VPS”: CX23 starts at €5.49/month in Germany and Finland after the 15 June 2026 adjustment, with 2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM and 40 GB NVMe.
Prices are monthly caps on hourly billing. EU regions are cheaper than Ashburn, Hillsboro or Singapore. A primary IPv4 is an add-on; IPv6 is included. Traffic on CX is generous (20 TB in EU) compared with $5 hyperscale droplets.
Hetzner is a good fit if you want root KVM, predictable EU latency and to avoid marketplace lock-in. It is a weaker fit if you need a large managed-app catalog, Windows-first support, or a US-only compliance story. Dedicated EX/AX/PX lines remain separate from Cloud and show up in our dedicated ranking.
Check current CX/CPX/CCX list prices before you commit: 2026 raised shared CX modestly and dedicated-vCPU CCX/CPX much more.
