Kamatera
Kamatera sells customizable cloud VMs: you choose CPU, RAM and disk instead of picking a Droplet-style SKU. Billing can be hourly, which helps bursty workloads. There is no famous $5 “nanode” — the quote depends on the slider positions.
The flexibility is the product. The cost of that flexibility is that two “2 GB VPS” quotes are not comparable until you lock CPU and disk. Always export the exact spec into our catalog filters (RAM, disk, price) rather than comparing a Kamatera quote to a named Hetzner CX plan by brand.
Use Kamatera when you need an odd ratio (lots of RAM, little disk) or a region they cover that your current host does not. Use a fixed SKU from DigitalOcean or Hetzner when you want a public price everyone else can reproduce.
