About Vultr

Vultr Cloud Compute

Vultr is a US cloud with a region list closer to a hyperscaler than to a single-DC VPS shop (30+ cities). Regular Cloud Compute still has the familiar $5 / 1 GB / 25 GB SSD / 1 TB transfer plan, plus $10 / 2 GB. High Frequency and High Performance SKUs add newer CPUs and NVMe for a few dollars more.

Billing is hourly with a 672-hour monthly cap. Egress beyond the included pool is cheap and globally consistent compared with AWS. The control panel and API are built for people who already think in instances, snapshots and VPC — not for “install WordPress in two clicks” shoppers (though marketplace images exist).

Pick Vultr when you need a city DigitalOcean does not cover, or you want to mix Regular and NVMe instances on one account. Pick Hetzner when the workload is EU-only and RAM per euro dominates. IPv6-only micro instances exist below $5 if you can skip IPv4.

The services is not reliable and the customer support is absolutely useless. I opened 4 support tickets and in the 4 of them they find the way to tell me this is not their problem and I have to figure out how to solve it. In the last case, it is literally making me to lose a significant amount of money. Leaving them, for sure...

I registered on this platform with the sole objective of provisioning a specific high-performance bare-metal configuration. At no point during registration it was stated that this hardware was gated behind an arbitrary 30-day probationary period. It's a multi-stage financial extraction process. Treating a customer who arrives with a $4,800 annual contract with an account deletion link as a 'solution'—is an embarrassing failure of customer acquisition and basic support etiquette.

I am extremely frustrated with Vultr's service and customer support. A few days ago, I registered an account and deposited funds to try their services. Since I was unable to use the service, I requested a full refund for my deposit. Shortly after making this request, my account was deleted/disabled without any notice or refund of my money. I attempted to contact their support team via email, but received no response at all. Silencing customers by shutting down their accounts and keeping their money is completely unacceptable business behavior. I strongly advise caution to anyone considering depositing funds here.

I had the WORST possible experience I've ever had with Vultr. STAY AWAY! I tried to sample their GPU instances for LLM inference for my new application using their much publicised $250 credit. They told me I had to apply for approval and provide details of my intended use, which I did. They approved me. Then I spent a week trying to get the instance they approved me for working. Either zero availability, or the two slots that were available weren't working. Their support team escalated it to engineering. I think it's 3 days later now and no response. Meanwhile the accounts team tell me actually I need to pay them $50 before I can get access to anything. WHY WOULD ANYONE do this after the experience I've had? RUN AWAY as fast as you can. Any company that treats their customers like this should be avoided at all costs.

Worst experience with Vultr. Their customer service is pathetic, unhelpful, painfully slow and non-existent. Please avoid if you frequently require support services.

Everyone talking bad about Vultr, but it's actually better than most big providers like GCP, AWS, Azure. Prices are competitive and support is really good.

Do not trust this company, they are running a fraudulent trap for new users. I registered an account because they promised a $50 bonus credit. However, you cannot use it unless you deposit your own money first.

Vultr is an absolute nightmare. Their network goes down all the time and it feels like they don’t even care. When production is hit, you expect fast support – but here, they take hours to respond, if at all.
